Businesses declare their CSI strategy, philosophy and focus area such as education etc. Once off or sustainable projects. Their objectives for the projects. Their target audiences: within their company and the recipients of the funding/goods etc. Who else was involved? Media, website placements etc. What messages did they put out there for the projects? What actions did they take? Period for the project; sustainable, maintainable, how many people involved? And the entire process of the projects.

The E-Club is organising a fun walk fundraiser in Gauteng for early 2025, with proceeds supporting education. They invite all interested Rotary clubs to partner and collaborate in this event. Additionally, they welcome everyone who would like to be part of the organizing committee to join and contribute to the event’s success. This is a great opportunity to support education and make a positive impact in the community.

The Alzheimer’s and dementia care home, currently housing 55 residents, is supported by a dedicated team of 70 staff members, including office personnel, kitchen staff, nurses, and carers working in two shifts. On June 6, 2024, Shirley and Angelique from the E-Club hosted a tea party to express gratitude to the staff for their dedication and hard work. The leftover cake was shared with the residents as a treat. Additionally, sixty beanies were donated to the residents, with photos to be shared soon. The E-Club also contributed R15,000 for paint to refurbish the lounge in the frail care unit and to paint all railings in bright colors, with pictures of the paint and ongoing work to be provided. North Cliff Rotary has offered to repair the home’s broken wheelchairs at no cost, with repairs pending a start date from Dave Woodhouse. Rotary Randburg also donated various items, including gloves, stationery, tea, stress balls, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. The home’s ongoing needs list includes adult diapers and disposable gloves.

A newly registered NPO feeds homeless people, providing 55-65 meals from Tuesday to Thursday. They are seeking collaboration to find part-time work for skilled individuals such as painters, plumbers, and electricians. Their immediate needs include food, gas, care packages, clothing, and blankets for cold weather.
Additionally, assistance is needed from Rotarians to create a budget and set up a PowerPoint presentation for a gardening project. This project aims to establish sustainable gardens for feeding the community, mirroring the initiative across multiple communities. Rotary Knights Pendragon has requested this budget to determine the feasibility and sustainability of establishing multiple gardens annually.

A place where terminally ill and chronic patients are cared for when their families cannot, this hospice received 1,800 seedlings funded by Knights Pendragon for a community day with my company. The hospice has a rooftop garden that remains unusable due to substandard waterproofing, causing leaks into the wards. Assistance is needed to raise funds to reseal the roof, enabling the home to sustain feeding its 40 residents and 50 staff members (volunteers receiving a stipend). The physio department requires stress balls, exercise balls, essential oils, and muscle rub treatments. Additionally, the hospice needs adult diapers, linen savers, disposable gloves, masks, and care packages (e.g., facecloth, toothpaste, soap, roll-on, and Vaseline or aqueous cream). In the meantime, we planted around the building until the roof garden can be repaired.
